I just joined (although I've been visiting the site for awhile).
I recently purchased a 1990 GMC Rally 2500, 5.7 (350) v8.
I'm pretty sure one (the lower one) of the transmission fluid cooler lines is leaking (ruptured). I have found puddles and followed drips down the driveway.
I've been trying to look up parts at auto parts shops and not even finding these lines listed..
My questions are - 1) is this an 'easy' fix? (I have replaced a power steering hose / line before, but I'm not very mechanically inclined - nor do I have a lot of free time at the moment. 2) Are these parts still available at auto parts shops? - am I calling them the right names?
I have to work tomorrow, so I will attempt to take and post some pics after I come back (I'll also introduce myself properly then..).
Thank you for taking the time to read.

It's just 5/16 or 3/8 steel tubing.
Have you tried a GM dealer?

I had to get straight lines and bend them myself. Not hard to do with a little hand held pipe bender. You can use the old line as a pattern to bend the new one.

So today I was talking with a respectable guy (backyard mechanic) and his opinion was that I could cut the lines and use fuel line and clamps..
I can't really do anything until Tuesday in any case as Monday is a holiday here... and I need to buy transmission fluid.
My transmission has MD8 written on it.

When Chris Farley talked about living in a van down by the river, did anybody else think that wasn't such a bad idea?

Even clamped the hose can still slide off.

IF you blow off one of the rubber lines you can burn up the trans by running it dry. This can happen pretty quick.
