I know the firing order is different between a non-H.O. 302 and the H.O. 302 and 351. Is the change in injector pulse order built into the wiring harness or the ECM? Working on an engine build and just trying to figure out what parts I should start trying to find.

When Chris Farley talked about living in a van down by the river, did anybody else think that wasn't such a bad idea?

ECM. DO NOT TRY AND CHANGE INJECTOR FIRING ORDER BY SWAPPING THE TERMINALS ON THE INJECTORS. Sorry, I needed to type that in all caps to make sure you heard me. See here:

So that would mean going to a Mustang e-cam which is designed for a 5.0H.O., I would need to get a computer for a Mustang with an AOD to match my 91 Econoline 5.0 non H.O. and AOD to switch the injector order. And of course swap the plug wires on the cap.

Or you could get something like a TWEECER or Quarterhorse and change the firing order in the ECU.

I suppose the pertinent question is why are you having to change the injector firing order? If you are rebuilding a motor, just pick a cam that matches the firing order currently programmed into your ECU.

Did not know how involved the tweecer was. The h.o./351 firing order is more naturally balanced. Just using the e cam as example. A tweecer will probably be a must have. Planning on a mild cam and decent heads and maybe the edelbrock truck efi intake with a stout rotatig assembly in a ford racing boss 302 block. Once everything seems happy and I like the setup, will start piecing together components for a remote turbo. I know turbocharging(hence the name) but will be learning fords efi setup.
