I installed a sway bar kit and a set of 2" drop spring shackles on my 88E150. Anyone else ever do this?
The sway bar seems to make-up for the weight of the hi-top and with the shackles it drives better. A little more solid feel.
It's not really 2" drop, more like a 1" with the shackles only. But it was just right because now the rear wheel opening is the same height as the front.
The shackles were for a C1500/GM with 2.5" wide springs. They're a tight fit in the rear hanger but I liked the large diameter bushings better than the smaller ones for the F150. I believe they'll ride better.
Anybody ever tried dropped I-beams?

They look (to me) like the increased leverage would really put a strain on the pivot point and the radius bars. I'm no engineer but they don't look safe enough for me to trust 'em with my co-pilot in the van!
65 MPH, a pothole and an I-beam breaking loose is not something a van was built to survive.
I drove my Ford to Razorback, 1300+ miles roundtrip, and the swaybar did make a lot of difference when meeting or being passed by big trucks. It felt a 100% better. Following an 18 wheeler at speed would still give me that rocking motion from the wind off their trailer but not quite as bad as before. The bar was worth the effort.
All I know about the mid Fords is how good they look. Will later model beams fit and offer more drop by relocating the pivot point in the cross member? I'll bet you Ken (SuperBeast) would know.

Yes Georgi I found a rear sway bar and installed it about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I think it works great on my van. A van without the hi-top would benefit more.
