Ok fellow van lovers... This is the one that I will be sinking my heart and soul into to recreate the beauty she once was... Its an automatic with a new rebuilt transmission and only 169000 miles(odometer shows only 69100)... my problems so far are mostly minor... the vehicle was a one owner van until i owned it... the previous owner was a old man who was 60 when he purchased it and him and his wife were the only drivers... so the motor should hold up perfectly... main problems at the time include the interior in general... there as small amounts of rust in a couple of SMALL dents... the entire weather stripping on all windows and doors MUST be replaced... the windshield is leaking water... the passenger door is leaking water the sky windows are also cracked and leaking water... this only bothers me because i am afraid it might be rusting under the carpet... i have only had this van for 3 days and havent had time to check into it really... and anyone with experience i would love to hear how to check the oil pressure gauge because mine doesnt work and it makes me uneasy... here are some pics and i will let them speak for their self... i dont wanna bore my new found friends...

Now random parts of the interior and the things that bug me the most:[Linked Image]

This is all i want to overwhelm u with right now... Money flow isnt a big amount right now so big updates will be drawn far out... but if interested i will gladly keep everyone updated on this... i love to have someone to share my love for vans with...

Looks like a fun project. Interior work is the funnest part of doing a van. I wish you luck getting all the glass resealed.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

When you start removing the carpet and wall coverings etc. put them somewhere so thry can dry out and then if there is any way possible you should save them to use as patterns later. Good luck and have fun with your project.

I can't wait to get major improvements started. I'm dying to get started. I'm really considering getting a second job for the rest of the summer. Don't know what it would be. Don't care. Long as it can make this dream come to life. And will do on the carpet and other pieces. I don't know on the designs to go with inside. I do know I am building a bed frame in the main back. This will be used to hide various equipment such as amps and possibly a big sub. Idk if I want to get crazy with it or not though. I am going to keep original paint scheme and colors and go with some kind of airbrushed graphics but also haven't decided on what to use...so many fun decisions to make.

On the oil presuure, I would buy an aftermarket mechanical guage. There are two ports for oil pressure hookups. One is where the oil filter screws on and the other is on the back of the block by the rear of the intake, really close to the distrubuter. Either one is fairly easy to get to with the dog house removed. Even a cheap autoguage is better than not having a guage at all. That oil stuff is pretty important lol. Might also be a good time to get some other guages, too. Like tranny temp, voltage, and a tach maybe.

When Chris Farley talked about living in a van down by the river, did anybody else think that wasn't such a bad idea?
