Thanks for the comments. Yep, I forgot to add that it's a Chateau.
I spent some time running the numbers online and found out that everything but the paint matches. From what I can tell, it was originally medium blue metallic and silver metallic. The interior was blue, obviously. Looking at the door jamb above, it looks like the majority of the body was blue and the area surrounded by the metal trim was silver. I'm not sure if the roof was blue or silver.
Most of the trim is there, and a couple of the missing pieces are in the van.
As I said before, I won't be replacing the two missing rear bench seats. In fact, I may wind up recovering the bench seat that's there and using it for a BS bench in the garage.
We had a '83 E-250 back in the 90s and we loved it. The way it was set up, we had the captain's chairs up front, another set right behind them, and a homemade folding sofa in the back, which folded down to a double sized bed. Of course we also had 4 kids with us at the time.
We're thinking about building a platform in back and fitting a queen-sized mattress on it. It's just the two of us (and the dogs) and we don't plan on hauling anything but ourselves and maybe a friend or two in it, so we don't need to make provisions for that.
I will say that this will be my first solo attempt at making and installing a bow type headliner.
I'm not worried about it too much though - with those huge trim panels on the sides (that panels that cover the edges of the headliner) I have a lot of room for error. This is assuming I make another bow-type headliner and don't make a rigid headliner. As I said, I haven't decided.
The interior wall panels will be relatively easy as they're basically nothing but long door panels.
I'm just glad nobody ripped out the old panels - it saves a lot of work. I'll use the old panels as patterns and trace the outline onto PVC foam board to make new panels. For the smaller door panels and such, I'll just use waterproof panel board like I would on any other door panel.
I have no clue what kind of pattern I'll use in any of this yet. I think the wife has decided, however, that we're going to go with blue as the interior color. I tend to agree with her on that - it's always easier to go with the original color than it is to change everything.
So, overall I'm going to try to paint it the original colors, but other than that, we're not absolutely sure what all we're going to do yet. My first priorities are going to be getting the engine and trans into shape, and tracking down some missing pieces. Right now I'm still cleaning it out and making a list of those missing parts.
Today will be spent just cleaning it up and starting on that list...
