I have a 79' chevy G20 with a sticker that runs almost the full length. Its a long wheel base. I want to take the sticker off without hurting the paint. Can I do that? I have used something called "Goofoff". It works but it takes a lot of elbow greese and a long time. Is there anything easyer to use? Its worth a six of Becks to me if you can recomend something that works. Keep on vannin.......................Pupout | | | Re: stickers #44146 April 14th 2001 8:50 am | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 449 addict | addict Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 449 | Hi, Do you know anybody who has a heat gun? I used one to take pinstripes off my van. It worked pretty good. ------------------

But it was time consuming. I wanted to find something faster. Thats ok, I guess its patience that will work the best. Even though I have got some off, the Goofoff dulls the paint. Can I bring the shine back? Thinking of sanding and redoing, but I love the brown on this van and hate to do it over. But I may have to do it. Thanks for any help.............Pupout | | | Re: stickers #44150 April 22nd 2001 10:16 am | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 310 enthusiast | enthusiast Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 310 | Pup, 3M makes a tape removal wheel that fits on a drill. It's available at some parts stores but your best bet would probably be a paint or custom shop.I've used them on a lot of vehicles. I removed a couple of hundred yards of pinstripe and tape from my 93 Chevy with it...lol.The plus side is it doesn't leave a gummy mess like a heat gun or a blow dryer. And it won't destroy your paint like a solvent.I tried goofoff myself, thankfully only on the tire cover,it took off the decals but left the black paint with all the luster of a bald tire . | | |
