Well the good news is I got my vandura started earlier this week. I had to strip & clean the quadrajet carburettor and pump the bad gas out of the fuel tank. SO now its running! However, when I was pumping the bad gas out of the tank, I noticed the flow of fuel from the pipe was like an 80 year old man with prostate problems tryin to take a pee..

The flow wasn't impressive..

Its fitted with a 12V inline fuel pump of unknown origin. The labels have worn off so I dont know what the specs are.

Do any of you guys know what king of flow rate pump I should look for?

thanks.

Exactly what PIPE are you talking about?
Before the fuel pump or after?

Morning Wookee,

AFTER the fuel pump.

I disconnected the fuel pipe from the front of the carburettor and re-routed it out to a container so I could empty the main fuel tank.

BTW - I didn't see a filter between the fuel tank and the pump.

Video clip - poor flow

I'm thinking a torn diaphragm in the fuel pump? Theres air getting in somewhere...

morning,
This is a single tank system correct.
This is also the class 3 mobile home ?

Not sure why it has an electric pump on it.

I would go back to the manual factory pump on the passenger side of the engine.
It might still be in place but by passed for what ever reason.

I am running a factory pump on my early this engine winds out tight to 5 ,000 RPMs on a regulare basis.the pump works great.
you Q jet should play well with the pump.

There is a sock on the pick up of the tank.no other filters on a factory manual pump set up before the original pump.

Single tank.
Class 3 mobile home.
I'll have a look for that factory pump. I'm assuming it went bad at some time and was replaced by that electric pump. The 12v pump is bolted to the chassis by the back axle, near the tank.
If the factory pump is bad, is there a repair kit?

Allthough not connected to your problem just so ya know, there is also a filter built into the fuel inlet of the quadrajet.

Yep, found that one when I stripped the quad down during the week.

Thanks Shaggy!

Factory Pumps are not rebuild-able but not expensive.

The factory pump is not expensive here state side to replace.
If it has been removed and a block off plate installed you will need to check and see if the shaft that works the pump off of the cam is still there......
