Are you tired of looking at a plain old dashpad in your mid-Dodge? Like the look of wood, but not the cheesy insert that came in the Sportsmans? Here is an option and it's pretty easy. I did it this morning in about 1 1/2 hours. - First start with your plain old dash... booooorrrriinnnggg! (yes i know it's due for a repaint [Roll Eyes] ) - then you go over to your scrap wood pile (if you have one) Mine just happens to be teak. - Find a suitable piece for your project and set it aside. (if you have a Boattail Riviera, feel free to lean it up against the side as I have done [Big Grin] ) - Then you make a pattern (or template if you perfer) and trace it on to the piece of wood you have selected (note: I found the inset is not an inch and a half tall the whole way across. It tapers very slightly at the top the last 12 or so inches maybe 1/8 - 1/4 inch or so) - Then (taking care) you carefully cut your wood out in the shape of your template, and sand your edges smooth. - After a little finetuning it should fit the inset nicely. Mine sticks out a bit, but that's what i wanted. It has to for the method I am going to employ to attach it. Part 2: attaching it, and finishing it. Looks great, Jason I've seen a ton of mid Dodge dash pics, and I just gotta ask, do we ALL leave the key in it? [Big Grin] I know where my key is too. [Wink]

Thanks for the comments guys. [Big Grin] My keys are always in the vehicle, and I haven't locked my house since i bought it. I guess it's just a habit when it;s something you don't have to worry about being a problem. The only time i take out the key is when i go a larger town. Then i lock it.

Actually the next step is going to be a wooden top for the dashpad, like the dashes we built into the powerboats I used to build. ...maybe
