I merely sugested that there are other options and showed what someone else did with theirs...in 1975! Plese don't kick me out of vanning again, or I'll have to destroy the bridge onto the island and form my own one man van club. (that'll show them all!)
I wouldn't personally be caught dead with those on my van, cuz they do scream Pontiac. (even the word is ugly) I'd rather shave my marker lights first!
...geez. tough crowd! [ August 18, 2005, 07:48 PM: Message edited by: Cap'n Scurvy ] | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87341 August 19th 2005 7:13 am | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 28,125 Madman! | Madman! And the Ford guys just sit there going "WTF? You guys are crazy" | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87343 August 19th 2005 4:28 pm | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 4,338 vantooner | vantooner Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 4,338 | BTW- Arbito, I was kicked out of vanning for expressing my love of the long hooded gas guzzling early 70's CAR... (i.e. my Riviera currently [455/400 she goes]) I used to like to tell people I only drive vehicles that are either ALL hood, or NO hood...and I can swing both of them into a parking lot no problem. I do prefer the van tho if the truth be told. at least I can sleep in that. | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87347 January 11th 2006 12:22 pm | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 91 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 91 | When I was at the auto parts store the other day I noticed a number of different side-marker lights you could buy that use LED. Of course none looked very close to the mid-Dodge style but it got me wondering if maybe there's some model of replacement side-marker out there that could be adapted to fit in the slots of a Dodge. Sorry if this suggestion is blasphemy... I just know my side-markers are pretty banged up and finding replacements seems near-impossible now. | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87349 January 11th 2006 2:30 pm | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 28,125 Madman! | Madman! If you've got a small paint gun or airbrush, there are even more colors available.
I was thinking of redoing the interior 'chrome' accents in my Ford with the magnesium..
I've actually used the rattlecan buffing aluminum in the past, and it turned out rather nice. | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87352 January 17th 2006 10:18 pm | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 240 enthusiast | enthusiast Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 240 | Casey if its the UV rays you are worried about, no problem just rub some waterproof bullfrog or banana boat on them and you are good to go! I have mine off now and might paint them anyway, anything is better than they look now. | | | Re: Side markers lenses #87353 January 21st 2006 12:51 am | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 240 enthusiast | enthusiast Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 240 | I just painted these the other day, I think they look nice, we'll see how they hold up.
