Greetings fellow vanners, I recently purchased a set of seats from a 2003 Dodge van and I am in the process of installing them into my 1977 Dodge Tradesman 200. The drivers seat has a 6 way electric seat adjustment, and I need some good advice on how to make the connection to my vehicle's electrical system. Currently, I only have the wiring lead that comes off of the "new" seat's electric motor seat base unit. I am hoping I can get a plug to mate with the existing one, and then I will need to run the wires to the fuse panel? (I assume - I have never done this). Any advice will be greatly appreciated including what size/amp. fuse I should utilize? Should I connect the seat to a fuse that is hot at all time, or one that is only hot when ingnition is on? I have never had a power seat at all, so I can use some good reliable advice.

Thanks,
Joe "Yayyy - I finally have cool seats" Dirt.

Probably the easiest would be to find a junked 2003 van and grab the harness. Scout around to other late model mopar vans, trucks, and cars cause the harness or at least the plug might be the same.

Your fuse box may or may not have a extra empty slot in the fuse box. I would use it and use a 25 amp fuse. Or you may have a "accessory" tap n the front of the fuse block that you could tap into and use an in-line fuse.

Personally, I would hook the power lead to a switched source.
