One item of interest was what I believe to be a gas cap from a Dodge Charger. It was the chrome type that says "feul" on the door and is hinged, and has a spring latch. Has anyone else ever seen this trick? If so how hard is it to accomplish / what is involved? Also, any idea of a company that is currently reproducing these type of gas caps including all mounting hardware? I hate to sound like a "copy cat" but I would really like to do this to my Dodge. I would appreciate any information.
Thanks, Joe. | | | Re: Charger Feul Door ANYONE? #86827 April 23rd 2004 12:44 am | Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 12,898 Vanner | Vanner Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 12,898 | Chargers and cudas had them. I put one on my Mid Ford 25 years ago. All I had to do was screw it on. It fit around the mouth of the fuel tank like it was made for it. I may have had to shim it a bit to make it work. | | | Re: Charger Feul Door ANYONE? #86828 April 23rd 2004 12:53 am | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 83 journeyman | OP journeyman Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 83 | Thanks another Millon Doc. Now I really want one! Anybody know of any Repro companys selling these Mopar (Charger or Cuda) "FEUL" doors?

60's Cudas had them, 70's Chalengers had them, and 70's chargers had them. The ones from the Cuda's were smooth on the face and the others said FUEL on them..

Doc is right, they screw right on. Porblem is, they're pretty pricey to get usually, b/c of all the Mopar collectors out there. If you check out stylinconcepts.com, they now make billet ones that look similar, and will probably be cheaper than trying to find an original, I think they go for $75. | | | Re: Charger Feul Door ANYONE? #86833 April 23rd 2004 7:37 am | Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 83 journeyman | OP journeyman Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 83 | Thanks everyone. Wayne, I will check out Stylinconcepts, but I am hoping that someone can point me in the direction of a supplier of a reproduction FEUL door so I could compare prices. I would kind of like to stick with parts that are Mopar or reproductions of original Mopar parts. It is the "classic car restorer" side of me.
Thanks again, Joe. | | | Re: Charger Feul Door ANYONE? #86834 April 24th 2004 2:26 am | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 94 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 94 | Dammit Joe (I can't resist )... just in case you have one made... it's spelled F-U-E-L... I'd hate to think of you getting one made that was spelled F-E-U-L... man I'm having visions of Spinal Tap and the "amp goes to 11" scene....
