I love your build.

I just got a 1995 Shorty and am wanting to build it similar. I see you used Dakota spindles. Did they bolt on and use the stock rotor and brakes or were there more parts or modifications needed? I have been scouring the net to try to find some information but have not had much luck at all.

Here is my van so far. Lot of parts on order at the moment.

I ended up not using the Dakota spindles. Seeing as I need this to be a tow rig for my 4500lb boat, I didnt want to have to lose the braking I have. You must use those spindles with the smaller Dakota brakes.

For lowering in the front I used Shortened Chevy 454 springs. This works for the looks but it is very under dampened. I need to find a different spring to run in front this winter.

Under dampened? Too stiff? I have been looking at lowering coils too for chevy 3500 truck for my 99 Maxi-Wagon. I also considered contacting eaton springs to see what they'd recommend.

I take delivery of my drop spindles tomorrow. I have been wanting to dajiban this thing for a long time, can't believe I finally pulled the trigger. Rebuilding the front end while I am in there. I am working on a '94 B250. Hopefully the Florida weather stays nice and I get a chance to get started and finish in the next couple of weeks. I will need new wheels and tires before I get started so I should probably order then this weekend... Chadsci, love the look of your van, I hope I can come close to that stance. I will be running a smaller (lower) tire than you so I might have a little more wheel gap frown

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum...just joined after finally buying my soon-to-be Dajiban today!

...For some reason I loved those vans even before I first saw a Dajiban but since then I knew I'll do it one day smile

Chadsci, I'm well impressed by your build, love the stance!

Hope you don't mind me firing a few questions at you. Sorry if they've been asked and answered before..

- By how much did you actually end up lowering the van using the shackles in the rear and cut springs in the front?

- What size tires did you fit? and what are the rim specs? width, offset etc?

I'll try to add a picture of my van, done a little photoshop job to get an idea for looks...

I installed my Dakota spindles on my 94 B250. I was able to use my stock brakes and even my dust shield behind the stock rotor. There was minor modifications but it all bolted in place. I also installed a shackle kit in the rear but I did not hear near the gains as you did. I was pretty upset about that, I didn't want to do what I am going to have to do next...
