Most modern radios get bright in the day and dim when you turn on the head lights.
Not mine it's always dim. forget trying to read what channel it's on in daylight.
I have taken this thing apart 6 ways from sunday. And I can't find anything that resembles a setting or a connection for bright. very strange. I should just go buy a new radio but it's not in the budget so if I can't fix it , it will have to do. It's an old slide out replacement radio. I hate it..I'm just venting. Thanks
oh it's a Toshiba 512 I can't find much on it.

I tried to press every combo of buttons I could think of but to no avail.
I also searched for quite a while looking for a manual.
I must have the wrong model number.

I didn't try holding buttons as I turned it off and on.
I'll try that.
Thanks
