I did some more digging and the 255/60 would have the same width as the old 255/70, but be around 2" smaller total radius (~1" more clearance between the tire and fender). That should be good enough. Put a blade in the top one inside to direct the fan air flow to the back. I also never had a problem until I hit the highway and the dips at RxR, bridges, etc.
