Well guys this winter i start to make the rest of the body work done and repaint my van.

Last winter i did the engine bay, painted everything under the hood, and now it's time for the rest of the van.

i'm working for 7 years in a body shop now so i'll do all the body work by myself. but i have some big ideas to give my van a period correct custom paint job. with flakes, candy paint and some pinstripes.

I'm a little familiar with custom paint. Pinstriping for 7 years now, since i was 16. and last year i've painted a chopper gas tank and looks really cool.

is here anybody who give me some tips and tricks?

Give you some tips? By the look of that chopper tank, you could be teaching many of us! Very nicely done.

Thanks to all who have taken time to reply to my n00b questions! Y'all are a gold mine of information.

I agree with the statement above mine. You are way ahead of me when it comes to this stuff. Tank looks really cool, and am guessing your van will look great when finished. Good luck

FlaminMatt, the very best place I know of to go for advanced painting advice is Kustom Kulture Lounge:

Kustomkulturelounge

There are genuine artists and professionals from industry there; quite an amazing wealth of information. Very high quality Automotive painting advice and material selection information is very well represented!

I would recommend joining their free website and using their search engine. I found wonderful information which was a great help to me. I hope you find it to be helpful too!

With as good as you are, you may be offering advice there too! smile

If you run into any problems you can't figure out, let me know. I've been painting for over 35 years, so I've seen all the things that can go wrong and I've gotten pretty good at figuring out what to do in those situations. The only limit on ideas is your imagination. You seem to know your way around a paint gun. Check my site out, it might help you.
