And in addition, Utopie once was white with a dark hood, windshield-frame and up to the middle of the Van. It also featured a Vista cruiser roof.

After the fire it was rebuild by Marty Sooby of Utopia Customs and now is a total dark colour with some stripes on it, and a "traditional" big wing on the roof, similar to that on Mofo, the new "Best of Show" winner of the last Nationals.

I have a lead on a full colection of Vanning Now. Might be picking them up at the Nats this year if I make it. Quiet1 that would be awesome if you find a copy. Keep me posted.

A cool update, based on a photo of the surf from the book VANS, there was a miniature version of the van at some point. You can only see a tiny corner of it in one photo, but that tiny vista cruiser roof is unmistakable.

Were they both built by Marty? smile

p.s. The zebra does not have stripes...

As far as I know - remember, I live on the other side of the world and far away from Texas - yes.

Marty build the first Utopia, than after the fired rebuild it, and Mofo is his latest work.

I had hoped to see Mofo during my visit at the 40th Nationals, but Joyce provided me the latest photos just as I arrived in our camp yay

And regarding the sarcasm sense, remember, my native language isn't english, it's german. And believe me or not, if I would have told my english-teacher - who was native from PA - that I will held a class in Florida 20 years later and more than 35 years later will travel alone cross-country the US, he would throw me out of the building in stunning disbelief.

The last three days have been insane. I got to PDX on Sunday at 8:30am for my first flight. I then got bumped from the next 10 flights, spent two nights at the airport trying every flight, and finally got one this morning to JFK. Then my flight was cancelled. Now I'm at Laguardia waiting for a flight directly to CVG. At least now I can say I've been to New York!
