worms Any sudjestions on how to drain fuel from the rear tank on a 88 ford xlt club wagon? The tank is completely full and the internal pump quit working. I don't want to drop it while it is full.

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by a CLEAN end.

I pulled the filler neck from the tank side on my 88 and 89 and used a hand pump from Harbor Freight and a couple of gas cans to get them down low enough to drop with a floor jack. The hose is small so you should be able to get it down neck without pulling the neck from the tank, but you'll have to pull it anyway and drop the tank to change the pump.

Catfish is right about the way to drain the tank, because you're looking at about 8 pounds per gallon times how many gallons, there is some weight there,i dropped a 22 gallon tank that was full and that was a PITA, BEWARE of the RISK of FIRE when dealing with gas,i had a friend standing close bye with a fire extingiser just in case and the cloths you ware and static electric,it don't take much to go up in flames.

Sorry this is late--- but I used a vacuum cleaner to put a couple # of air pressure
in the tank. Discount a fuel line and put it in a can.
Good luck.
