You know, I would be sorely tempted to pull the carpet, clean up the rusty spots with a wire wheel in a drill motor, treat the rust, and then patch the rust temporarily with fiberglass. Then the van would at least be watertight and you could pick one repair to do at a time. That way you could save a vintage custom and not worry about swapping all the parts.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

Tough break on the rust, but that van is killer! Part out or restore, this is going to be cool!

There is just not enough left to repair. I'm not in a rush for a driver. So I'm gonna find a clean builder and transfer all the goodies.

I'm digging the luggage rack with ford logos on every mount. Not sure about the gold though. Going to see what the cost of rechroming it would cost.

I'm sure the gold running boards, gold ladder, and gold luggage rack were pretty cool back in the day.

I found a headliner retainer inside that was also a track for a curtain! And an RVI drink holder top of the dog house.

It looked like the van also had a sink that was pump operated and supplied from a water tank under the couch. Cool huh?

Oh, and the spoiler must have been added on after all the original modifications. It is slammed up to the luggage rack and the mounts aren't flush because the roof line curves away because it's mounted to far back.

There's a guy on the Facebook Custom Van Appreciation society looking for this van, it was built as part of a race team with an F100, F150, and this econoline... It was featured in a magazine, they were tracking hot air balloons...

when things go bad, you just gotta keep on keepin' on...

What?? Really? Did you happen to note his name or the post? That would be cool to see the magazine article.
