I really don't care much for the 4.3 as it is. The whole combo of 4.3 and 4L60 does not seem like a good idea for a 127" G10.

I need something I can haul loads with. Nothing major, but needs to at least be able to haul my 96 Harley up the local mountain without struggling. This one seems to struggle pulling some of the small hills around here.

Maybe I'd be better off parting this one out and finding the shorty with 350 that I wanted to begin with.

I had a 92 shorty 4.3 and 4l60e, it was a total dog above 50mph and I would have to constantly shift it manually into lower gears going up hills.
Check your craiglist I have seen some real cheap complete tbi v8 setups for sale. My current shorty 305 v8 is worlds better and gets nearly the same mpg

Decided to sell it for parts or part it out. I have WAY too much going on with all the other vehicles, house, children to tackle a trans repair right now. I'd love to swap in a v8, but I'm knee deep into my 72 Chevelle for a while. I got this van thinking I would have a good reliable let parts hauler, bike hauler that I could still play with a little. Just don't have time or desire for another big project at the moment.

You DO NOT have a 4L60E. It's a 700R4/4L60 (no E) in 1991.

You could buy my whole 91 Chevy Van for $800 and swap the tranny into yours.

I could probably find a cheap donor van in my area with a 350/auto combo, but it's just not feasible for me at the moment. I am trying to finish building a 78 Yamaha xs650 chopper that is near completion and I'm also trying to get my 72 Chevelle back on the road (new fuel tank, th350, etc).

I live in the city on .3 acres with no garage, so all my work is being done in my driveway. Just don't have the time, money, or space to take on another big project at the moment.

I wish you were closer, your van is exactly what I wanted 6 months ago when I was looking for my current van, and bought a '94 shorty with the 4.3...

when things go bad, you just gotta keep on keepin' on...
