THe heater hose fitting on the front of the small blocks changed over the years. When I was running an Edelbrock intake I had to get an extender pipe from Home Depot to run the stock heater hoses pipe.

Any photos of Courtney's? Mark, court's dropped right in no clearance issues at all... | | | Re: GM HEI for Ford 302 | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 | I have the factory intake, has a few stupid temp activated vacuum switches, it is so tight because of this crap, you can't turn it far, very little adjust-ability if it will go in, perhaps the rubber O-ring was restricting it, I just will have to try again. I really wish I could afford a 4 barrel carb and intake to swap over to it, eliminate the emission junk and unnecessary items, before then. I had no idea how bare her intake is, boy you guys are lucky. I just had an issue recently, drawing attention away, I have to find the fuel tank refill hose size, so I can replace it, not able to fill the tank up fully due to the rotten hose leaking it out, so it only holds 10 gallons, ran out of gas this week. Once it's runnin again, I'll get back to the swap, need the engine to run first. BTW that damn pipe is 3/4" from the factory points distributor. | | | Re: GM HEI for Ford 302 | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 3,601 Likes: 10 | Did you replace the ignition wire all the way back to the switch, or did you find and remove the resistor section of the wire? That photo doesn't show much detail where the heater hose is, just curious if the 4 barrel intake has it further from the distributor. OK, I can't get it in, it hit the heater hose that's on the intake by the distributor, has a temp controlled vacuum switch. Any photos of Courtney's? Found my gas mileage issue, the return was leaking back at the tank, leaving puddles everywhere, while it was running, you could watch it drip, I capped it right now, but removing it soon, redoing the feed from the pump to carb. I need to get someone to drop my tank and replace my fuel pickup some day, it's rusted so I can use only 1/2 my tank, get, the fuel lines replaced then. | | | Re: GM HEI for Ford 302 | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,463 Likes: 12 | If you remove the return line, you may find yourself experiencing vapor lock symptoms. Proceed with care... What you may get away with during the cooler weather of fall or winter may bite you during summer.

Clear the in-tank filter of crud?
