Great look with the bumper.

Ugh....The Lost Dakota has been down & out for quite a while, it developed an electrical issue, with limited time and interest....I let it sit. I read about the same issue by other Ford owners, they just kept throwing parts & money at their rigs with no results....I couldn't find the resolution required on line & was unwilling to throw money at it recklessly.....UNTIL....Until I found an article concerning the ECM/ECU and exploding capacitors....I removed mine, opened it up and BAM....there it was, a 75 cent exploded capacitor.....ebay replacement ECM/ECU....$200 bucks..EEEK! I set out and found my local TV repair guy, replaced all 3 capacitors costing 2 bucks, and started singing that old Willie Nelson song......On the road again, I can't afford to fill the tank but, I'm on the road again....... | | | Re: Lost Dakota....(a build thread) | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 289 enthusiast | OP enthusiast Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 289 | Since my last up date, I built a swing out tire carrier off the stock bumper, I didn't like it.........So I then built a false ladder, which is actually the spare tire carrier, works great, looks like it belongs. | | | Re: Lost Dakota....(a build thread) | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,535 Likes: 135 Supreme Master | Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,535 Likes: 135 | Arianrhod:2003 Chevy Astro Black Magic: 1985 Dodge B-250 Serenity:1985 Chevy G-20 The Outcast:1983 Ford club wagon Luna 1974 VW bay window transporter Freedom:1990 Ford E-150(parts van) Outcast Vanners van club Support your local 2% | | | Re: Lost Dakota....(a build thread) | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 289 enthusiast | OP enthusiast Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 289 | Van is now posted 'For Sale' in Members area, simply do not have the time, hate to see it go but some one else will need to take it to the next level. 3k takes it! | | | Re: Lost Dakota....(a build thread) | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,535 Likes: 135 Supreme Master | Supreme Master Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 18,535 Likes: 135 | Good luck with the sale.It sure looks like a sweet van.
