i got a used norcal wing a couple of years ago. it had a couple cracks on it and i tried to fix by using a dremel and making the crack bigger then filling in with a POR15 product called resto-grip (fiberglass type filler). that crack has come back plus it is also bubbling in other spots where a sticking substance is oozing out. we have had a very hot summer so far which is making it ooze out even more. plus it leaks out this rust colored stuff that now is all over my roof and runs down the back doors and the drip rail plus down the front fenders. i have to use a rubbing compound to get it off. anyone know of a way to fix it, if fixable, plus cheaply, and without taking it off? just a real pain to take down interior roof again or am i just gonna have to buy a new one (which will probably have to be the way)? anyone else have this happen to them? Just get a friend to help you take the wing down. Then grind out the old repair and cracks. Featheredge area then use a Professional product like Fiberglass Evercoat then prime it then paint it. Don't use POR15 products.

Evercoat Fiberglass Link

Then you'll have to decide whether to putitback up or sell it on Ebay.

My van came with one of those damn wings first thing I did was get ride of it and fill the holes. Fix your wing then sell it while there in demand. crazy

Nice. Please post pics of the new wing once you get it on your van. I love how your van looks, probably because it is a visor away from the look I'm going for.

got my wing the other day. couple of the corners are a little dinged up, i'll have to add a little filler to them and just rattle can primer and paint for now; same as my old one. my old one had what years and Dodge molded into the wing where it meets the roof; this one doesn't. a lot of work its gonna be to pull down my interior roof and put it on again. i guess it probably took 30 years or so for the old one to start coming apart so hope this one holds up. It looks good. How is the quality of the glass? Does it feel good and sturdy? I have a wish list built on trucknvans including one of those, flares, chin spoiler and a few other parts. I'll pull the trigger as soon as I set back some more cash.

Feels good and sturdy. Since my old one was cracked and seeping resin(?) it will always make me worry about the new one. I'm just a worrier. Seems as most don't have any issue with there's so I'll just hope mine holds up. Wish I had a garage or carport so my van isn't in the elements at all times.
