It was customized by RVI (Recreational Vans Inc) out of Torrance, CA. Apparently they were a pretty big player back in the day. It was just dumb luck that I figured it out. The back of the van had badge of some sort in the lower left of this picture: And then I was scrolling through a few old Vanner World magazines, that I found online, and there was actually an article about RVI and I recognized the badge. Here is a pic of the interior: | | | Re: Thinking about buying this van, any input? | Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 51 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Jan 2013 Posts: 51 | Yes, a California van, perfect! . I see some stuff on it that my 81 didn't get, and you can tell it was really sweet in it's day. Great project! I personally would love to see the original paint scheme recreated, but however you decide to go with it, please keep the pics and updates coming!

So while waiting I've been trying to find out what I can about this particular model. Does anyone know what the name of the missing piece is that sits behind the side door, and covers that channel? Just wondering how hard it might be to find. | | | Re: Thinking about buying this van, any input? | Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 Maniac | Maniac Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 12,107 Likes: 37 | Sliding door filler panel. Will be a stock item on any short wheelbase Ford van from 75-91.
