Hmmm. That might be a good side business for me, too. If you don't mind my asking, how much was the initial investment and how much material did you get with it?
Well I started out looking at a smaller set up , but the more you read into it the more you find out you may need a bigger unit .
For doing larger parts like wheels ,bumpers , Motor cycle parts .I had to go with a system that was double what i wanted to spend .
The size of the spray guns make all the difference . My Investment was just under 11k , how ever it opened up a can of worms as well .
Since i have a new shop it was not that bad . They recommend low dust enviorment . So No forced hot air . I have radiant heat going in as we speak in the flooring . I will need to run a water sorce out to the shop and include a run off storage area . This will collect the run off material in 55 gal drums ( its gets recyclced but you have to concentrait it first by slow boil evap to remove the water .)
I then need to set up a good ventilation unit . And consider how much prep work am i willing to do for other people . The part needs to be perfict like your panting black paint or everything will show .
My first batch of product with the silver solution was $1,600.00
I also invested in some infrared ovens ( they look like a Box thats open ) to help with the drying of base coats in cooler weather .
Idealy this suff should be sprayed in a paint booth, So im making part of the shop a small paint booth .
In addition the water used needs to be filtered and ionized so thats part of the investment mentioned above .
Since i bought this unit i found out there's two other guys who have it with in 30 minutes drive from me . One really doesn't use it because of the prep involved the other makes good use of his .
your over all experiance of paint work is helpful specially on different surfaces ie* plastic ,metal, kinds of metals , Vynals ,ect .
