In the very beginning I saw you check the angles of the drive shaft, but when you put it back in I didn't see anything about duplicating those angles. It is very important to do that. Check out the video its the only place I've seen it explained. The below code should take you to it. If it doesn't start playing click the "embed post" button in the lower left and then preview it.

Have had a "LONG" unplanned break during the build but back on it again now as just want to get it finished and getting so close now! Problem is you take one step forward and ten steps back as its a custom install and I am finding my way with every step, now stuck on the carb linkage no idea what I should have there, members have kindly posted about the two brackets i need but i like to see a photo of what I need and match to it, just sitting here now trying to find the illusive pic incorporating the part numbers listed.!Even e-mailed Holley but no reply! Glad you enjoyed the post I hoped it would be of use to others, any questions at all feel free to ask and I will gladly help if i can! Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by a CLEAN end. | | | Re: "Real time" Swap of A727 to A518 transmission | Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 323 enthusiast | OP enthusiast Joined: Aug 2010 Posts: 323 | Thanks all away on vacation at mo will use the info and the pics( really appreciate that) and try to get my head around it. Have chance to get the kickdown linkage below pretty reasonable anyone know if this will be of any use to me as I have no idea? It looks more like an accelerator pedal linkage to me, likely with the intent of a spring attaching to the flange-headed pin at the top of the L bracket. The two vertical facing holes in that big dogbone don't look like the sort of geometry used on the transmission or the intake manifold.
Getting this to work will very likely consist of lots of fabrication, cussing, and throwing of tools... I'd think you'd do better to save up for a cable system that's designed for your van or refurbish your original linkage.

It might work with a cable style kickdown linkage, but if you are going with a cable style kickdown linkage then you can just connect it straight to the carb and skip this bell crank part.
