actually the biggest cause is tire pressure. The things BaconGrease stated are definitely factors, but too many extended van drivers drive around with 40-60 psi in the tires when those vans call for upwards of 80 psi in the tires. As we all know, or should know, under inflated tires are VERY DANGEROUS !

Yup. Tires pressure is VERY important. Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, the video won't load.

I think for now I am going to keep my single rear wheels (I already run light truck tires) and upgrade my front and rear suspension. I don't think i will be extending this van, but if I do every get an extended van I will try and find one that is already a dual wheel rear axle or I will upgrade it so it is. I could find the rear axle and suspension out of an ambulance that should ust bolt right up.

I also am running a rear sway bar on my van which has helped control the sway a lot.

Dang, I need to win the lottery because I have a list of about $15,000 worth of repairs nd upgrades I want to do to my van...

Tire pressure for the load, as well as tires rated to carry the load. Those 15 passenger vans likely need E rated tires or higher to carry a full load, but when empty those tires inflated to the max, would transmit every single pebble vibration into the van.

So they were likely aired down when empty for comfort, and not aired up to the correct pressure when filled with 15 passengers.

I've got some rear airbag helper springs. They really reduce body roll/Sway and the adjustability is nice, but I believe the right size spring pack for the load will ride nicer, but when the load changes, the leaf pack can be too soft or too firm depending.

That Dodge is quite a beautiful beast. Like I say, someday I might get an extended van again, but for now I will have to settle for installing a raised roof (at the most).

Getting & installing a hi top on your van might cost as much as that silver van. Some hi tops that long & tall can fetch 3K.

True, but right now I have a standard length and standard wheelbase van. If I attempt installing a high top on my van I will do it by getting a high top from a junkyard van and installing it on my van. I figure i can pick up the used high top for a few hundred dollars (hopefully including some nice interior wood trim, lights, and cabinets), then spend a couple weekends carefully measuring and cutting and installing the top on my van.
