Well, it's been a long time coming, but I finally bought a van after 11 years of waiting for the right van/time/opportunity to come along.
So here I am!
I'm a car nut, and have had more than my fair share of vehicles over the past 20 years.

I set out to build a '70s style, short wheel base van back in 2003 when I had to sell my '70 VW Westfalia. I really loved that old westy.
As far as getting a new van went...
The money was never right...
The vans available were never right...
The space to store one was never quite right...
It sure seemed like there was a lot to get in the way of my vannin' plans.
This whole time my needs were changing, so I started looking into longer vans, as a "shorty" would no longer do.
I want to build a van that's cool to hang out in at the lake, but that can haul lumber and such for my hobby projects.

I finally ran across a possible candidate for a mild build, but the guy could never meet me to show it...
Aaaarrrrgh!
After about a month or so, I finally pinned him down long enough to see it.
...and I brought her home!

She's a '92 Chevy G20 cargo van, automatic, 350, with 69,000 original miles.
Woo! Hoo!

I've been reading and learning a lot from these forums, and I can't wait to maybe be of help to someone else.
That's just how I roll.

Looking forward to seeing you guys around.

Rusty

Thanks guys!

I've got a picture that I could put up but the FAQ says try to keep the pictures to around 35k... That's pretty small.
What's the deal? I see many, many large pictures here.

Here's the pic from the day I brought her home.
Since then she's had the decal adhesive removed from the doors and sides, the A/C vacuum control switch replaced (Mmmm cold A/C!), the heater core replaced, and the custom upholstery removed from the front doors (It was in really poor shape in places where they used lightweight fabric).

Right now I'm halfway through a coolant flush (taking a lunch break smile )

Thanks!
Nice van yourself!!
In my mind, when I'm driving my van, it looks like yours...
Then, when I get out of it, it looks like a carpet van with rally wheels. smile
I like your van's stance.
If you don't mind me asking, what's that setup?

Our club could be called "The Creepers". lol
