Found this cool Hellwig sway bar on ebay today. Was wondering if it would do much at all to a 95 shorty? I get a bit of sway but that is probably because I need to replace some suspension and steering components soon. Save the $250 and hours of work or worth it?

I am worried I may also have to move my exhaust as well and get rid of the trailer hitch.

Sway is something I would like to eliminate too. I improved the handling on my 1992 G20 shorty somewhat by adding two extra leaves to each of the rear spring packs. Keep in mind that these vans have 2.25" wide leaves. Most other vehicles use 2.5" leaves, so you need to grind extra leaves to allow the u bolts to fit around them. A sway bar would help some but for the money you might be better off with stiffer tires. If you have the stock P225/70R15 tires, a lot of improvement can be made by switching to a higher load rated tire. Unfortunately, in the stock 15" size, there is not a lot of room for improvement. Most newer vans have 16" wheels and there are load range E tires for these. I am considering getting new 16" alum wheels and heavier tires. Although, I love the look of the BFG Radial T/A's in 255/70R15 that I have now. New wheels would be $400 instead of the $250 for the sway bar, but would drastically change the look of your van too. Of course you would have the price of tires also.

I currently run 235/70/15 in front and 265/60/15 rear and have truck/suv tires from khumo on some steel cragar wheels.

I also wanted to go 16 or 17 wheels but its hard finding stuff that fits vans correctly and does not cost a ton.
