this is the amp gauge rolling down the road at 60mph
changed out voltage regulator.
I checked the battery and the alternator with volt gauge, they read just as they should.
at idle it reads just above 0

just wondering do I have a problem or that is where they are supposed to read?

Mine read just above 0 all the times if the battery is fully charged. If I step on it from idle, it would go slightly above 0 but always goes back to just above 0. The gauge goes right right after starting up for a few minutes. Once when the alternator bit the dust while I was on the highway, it was showing slightly below 0.

I'd clean the ammeter's posts and make sure the ammeter wire is in good condition.

If the alternator reads at least 13.75v while running, it's good. If it's below, the alternator might be dying/dead. If it reads too high, like 14.50v and above, it's overcharging.

Are you having any electrical issues at all?
