Mace thanks for the tip,all I used was trusty old white rubbing compound.
There are some areas that I am going to hit with some 1500 them buff it.some body i think removed some stripes and left light scratches in the paint it's self.
The hooD and roof will defiantly need a repaint job.
The roof rack really needs to go soooo.....
I am pretty sure I can buff the paint out nice and then "cut in" my repairs.....
Had to do some maintenance work today.
When I buy an uninspected van I usually pull the wheels and check things over before I take it to the inspection station.
I cheated on this one and sent it with out looking at it.
The little bit I have driven it the the squealers in the front brakes started sounding off.
dropped 90 bucks at the trusty Advanced Auto Parts.picked up a set of front pas wiper blades and a set of new rams for the rear upper door/factory gull wing.
When I pulled the front wheel I noticed a new caliper and a new steel brake line.there was also a caliper on the driver side along with freash hardware.
this is where i really love coming in behind a paid mechanic.
I will bet 10 to 1 this van has a rubber brake line problem
and the duma$$ paid wrench missed it.Both of the factory rubber lines where still in place.
The calipers retracted decent.
There was not a lot of brake dust on the wheels.
I will go back in and replace the lines.Today I wanted to get the pads replaced before they tore the rotors up
While I was there I did hit the one front wheel with some mothers I had handy
before
after
these wheels have the clear coming off on them
not sure if I like them enough to strip the clear off and just touch up the curb rash and buff out the outer ring/edge.
installed the new rams
All in all it was a good day.....
.......Wookee
