The only modification needed was to trim the bottom rear corner of the side gullwing to match the curve of the door opening. It has a slight wheel well curve at the back of the door. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59779 January 31st 2005 2:20 pm | Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 | well it's good to know that they'll fit with a little modifying. I thought someone here had said they changed the wheel well, but obviously not. Thanks, guys. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59780 January 31st 2005 10:08 pm | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 3,302 pooh-bah | pooh-bah Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 3,302 | Hmm, all that is true about the side and rear doors, but I don't think the front doors will work. The front wheel well is quite a bit different. I will measure the doors from Endangered Species and the trailer. I'd be very surprised if the front doors are interchangeable. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59781 January 31st 2005 10:18 pm | Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 | Thanks for checking that out, hurricane. I'll certainly appreciate any info you come up with. My front doors are not in bad shape, but do need some work, and all the weatherstripping. I may be able to get a pair of later doors cheaper than the weatherstripping. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59783 February 01st 2005 11:14 am | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 28,125 Madman! | Madman! I measured the 77 against the 79, and the measurements were the same. I even laid a spare 77 door I have up against my 83, and they looked identical. It just must be the front wheel wells that are different, b/c I know front flares won't work from one bodystyle to another. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59785 February 04th 2005 5:55 pm | Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 2,699 Likes: 1 veteran | veteran Joined: Dec 2000 Posts: 2,699 Likes: 1 | The flares wont fit due to the differance in the frt bumper. I had bought flares for my 79, then sold it before they were installed, I figure I would use them on the 93, ng, the frt bumper was in the way, too big.
I also know someone that has a 77 dodge van motorhome, he bought flares for a newer dodge, he had to modify the front of the flare to make it fit properly. He's a body man, he agreed it was due to the bumper. | | | Re: Can anyone verify this? #59786 February 04th 2005 11:20 pm | Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 pooh-bah | OP pooh-bah Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 3,124 | Thanks, Wayne
