it sounded like it was coming from the front passenger tire, so I will check that as well. thanks again!

Try this, roll the front passenger window down and drive slowly down the street. When you hear the clicking, apply the brakes and see if the clicking goes away. Most clicking I have experienced comes from the front passenger tire and is related to the brakes being applied.

My best guess as to this clicking noise is that Dodge vans were built with an o-ring behind one of the brake pads on the front calipers (I can't remember of-hand if it is the inboard or outboard pad). As you can imagine, these o-rings degrade and go missing over the years. I have never seen one outside of the illustrations in the shop and parts manuals. I believe the missing o-ring creates a small clearance between the pad and the caliper, just enough to allow the pad to click around between the rotor and caliper. Once the brakes are applied, the pad is held firmly between the caliper and the rotor and the clicking stops.

okay, so drove the van a few miles this AM. the clicking noise comes from the front passenger tire, but it is doing exactly the opposite as what you are saying. when brakes are applied is when it starts. I am wondering if I need to pull it apart and take a look. it is really loud and annoying. I watched someone look over ast me as they were walking their dog down the block. good news is it runs really good and I found some 70's wood paneling and picked up about 6 sheets of it this morning. as soon as I button up the last few things, I am going to get the interior started.

Hmmm. Clicking when the brakes are applied might be a damaged brake pad, worn wheel bearings, or maybe a loose caliper bolt. I recommend removing the hub, repacking the grease in the bearings, and reseating the bearings.

Definitely post pics of your interior as you go!

okay.... so the stupid clicking noise was the weights on the wheels when I got new tires and they were balanced. I need to get him to move the weights a little more inside the wheel so it doesn't hit the caliper.
took the wife out for the vans first real run saturday all dressed in our costumes went to a friends house party, had a great time with plenty to drink. we set up a nice little bed and slept like babies for our first sleep over in the beast.

a couple questions, my driver door has some sag in it if i lift it while I shut it it closes fine, this is something i want to address as it sags a little too low for my taste. can I adjust something? or what would I need to remedy this possibly new hinges? i can see where there is play in the bottom hinge, but I dont see how if its possible to adjust or align better.

thanks!

You can replace the hinge pin and that should fix that.
That's the pin in the center of hinge.

+1. You can still buy whole new hinge assemblies from Dorman.
