I'm considering buying a service manual from ebay and wonder if it will cover the issue I have.

Ever since I got the van back from the painter the slider has been difficult to open and close. I think a lot of it is the new weatherstripping but a some of the parts seem worn and maybe missing or out of adjustment.

Does the service manual cover in detail the sliding door?

I have the factory GM manuals for a 71 and also a 72 and they have all the info on adjusting the doors. Very good book to have. Brad

If you own it you should have a factory service manual for it.
That's the first thing I buy.
They cover everything.

If your roller assembly is worn out, I found you can easily interchange all the way to the last of the G series in 1995. My entire upper arm and roller assembly are from a 1992 junkyard find. The late model factory extended arms also have a bevel that will keep you from damaging the side window like mine was due to the weight of the door.

I'll probably buy the manual. I'm sure it's good to have.

Colin, that might be the way to go. I would need to change out the whole assembly right? For example do the rollers interchange?

I have an older Haynes manual that goes into detail on adjusting the slider, something I need to do myself.

Does anyone have a good idea where to buy a 77 (I have a 76) service manual? I could really use one too. Hard time trying to find one.

People pull this go ask google gag all the time and its never funny. I
never understood why people want to be mean to strangers on the Internet. If you can't say anything nice or helpful it's better to say nothing.
