I got the trans into my dodge (a833) and the frame is in the way of the hurst shifter. should i cut out a piece of the frame? its looking like thats going to be my only option. Has anyone run into the same thing before? and what was the solution? Thanks in advance!

What part of the frame are you talking about? The shifter shouldn't be that far over. The Dodge vans are only box frame, you can cut a section and move it in a little as long as you reweld some metal in to re-box it.

Could you take a picture of the situation and post before you cut? Maybe that would help to provide a solution.

Get the right shifter to fit the van. They were made with three and four speed floor shifters.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

The way I'm seeing it is..,drop the shift rods off the trans, mount up the shifter(assuming it's the right one)and then sit back and take a look see as to whats what and where goes what.:)
