its just that sometime suppliers dont list G30 parts so if they list G3500 i may still be able to get the part.

If the part is made for a G3500 it will be listed for a G30 also ...the manufacturer isn't going to make it for a gmc and not a chevy....unless your talking trim pieces etc.

GMC is the same as Chevy but GMC is a little heavier duty. I do believe most parts are interchangeable but GMC parts will be slightly higher quality, not enough to notice the difference part by part but as a whole it made the GMC's better work vehicles. If you notice the better name conversion companies (starcraft / LRP) used GMC vans.

Munz..I worked in a part store and was a sales rep for a parts warehouse for 15 years before I started my landscape business and chassis part etc, are no heaver on a GMC than on a Chevy..there all the same...not trying to be a azz but the part numbers are all the same.. smile

Throughout the years I was always told that the only difference was the trim. The vans came down the same assembly line but were differentiated by trim. But a guy that worked parts should be the expert.

I stand corrected, I always heard GMC was Chevy's hi line but according to Wikipedia they ARE the same;

GMC and Chevrolet trucks are virtually identical except for the grilles and nameplates, though their differences have varied over the years.
