That sucks Wiz but imagine that happening at 200 MPH? I hope it didn't ruin any fenders etc!

Glad you're ok and you vehicles did not suffer too much damage.

I know the following doesn't really apply to a puncture from road debris, but

You don't save money buying cheap tires.

I once spent 3 months travelling the Baja pennisula. I brought two spares, and my rear tires were new, and some off brand. On the front were a set of Michelins that were heavily worn.

The new noname tires suffered tread separation on one and a full sidewall blowout the other while doing about 55mph on washboarded road.

The wornout Michelins took the spanking like champions and took me across country 3 more times.

LT tires have re enforced sidewalls. If you have 16 inch rims, load range D or Even E is the way to go, and might even improve MPG. Very few LT 15 inch tires have D ratings.

If you get passenger tires ie p235/75/15's, make sure they have the XL designation after them. I think it is illegal for a tire shop to put tires without the XL designation on a Van so check to see if pep boys put underrated tires on your van. You might get a new set for free, and possible more if you want to bring a lawyer into it

What weight are they rated to carry? Should be at least 1987 lbs each.
What size does the door placard read?

Does the failed have an XL designation?

Passenger Tires on top heavy vehicles like trucks and vans must be derated 10%. LT tires are already derated

Looks like p275/60 15s are rated at 2149 lbs, and even derated for Van use should be more than adequate.

Those rims look nice. I'm always worried about offset and backspacing on aftermarket rims, and these numbers never seem to be listed on the sites.

I have 2 aftermarket rims with 1 inch different offset, so I keep them either on the back or front. Hardly ideal from a rotation standpoint
