Well most likely if my mother gets a first generation Durango the ball joints would probably of been replaced by now, if not then the recall will take care of it and if they don't honor the recall then it's a piece of cake to replace ball joints. But I don't think we would be getting a first generation, probably the second generation. Eitherway i'm not to worried, a dodge is a dodge is a dodge!

I keep trying to convince my mother to buy a older dodge durango because they are so easy to repair and rebuilding the transmission is a piece of cake. Rebuilding anything is a piece of cake but point is I don't want another vehicle with macpherson suspension, don't want anything small. I just can't take small cars that require you to remove the front end to replace something like a shock.

If you ever feel bad talk to guy that has a Chevy FWD minivan. Those things are a NIGHT mare. My little mule is getting very long in the tooth and I am debating whether its worth keeping around much longer. I do not want to sink more money into it. I could see getting a small truck or something that ages better that I could do more work on. After living with my GMQ, I am not enamored with things with a lot of electrical geegaws either. Too hard to fix. I'd LOVE to get a regular van to drive, but there's gas, the fact it has 3 too few seats, and most of 'em around here are ragged to death and expensive to buy because demand is so high. A nice Ram Van would be fun.

If your gonna do it, do it in a Big Green Van!
