If you get a new one, the maintance program starts over and there is always the possiblity that the new one has problems...you know whats good & bad on your old one...KEEP IT !

New one will have higher reg fee's & higher ins.

I think you should keep it.It beats trying to sell and not getting what you have put into it.You could get another van that could need all this work plus more.I know doing your own mechanical work can be very intimidating.I do a lot of my own and if I get in to deep there is always vanners on here willing to help.I have learned so much from this site.I could probably rebuild my 225 slant six from the info Reed and Chris have shared. Thanks Guys! If you do need to hire out the job I would recommend a regular shop and not a dealer.

Good luck.

THANK YOU ALL for your input, even the ones who did not post but thought they would take it, no matter what.

Based on some of the detailed comments, and our Memorial trip camping (where as SPACE for hauling was NOT AN ISSUE!), we decided to keep the van and just see how much further we can go with it.

Don't know what could possible go wrong next, just put another 500 miles on it last weekend with luckily no issue (thus driving without cruise is not nice).

Wish I would have someone close buy who could help or trade labor. Am studying the repair manual tonight and see how to take the clock spring apart, maybe cleaning helps.

Thanks again all! It really helped.

Greetings!

Yeah, we are going to see family at the Niagara Falls next week, taking the van of course.

My bad mood I was in would say that I just leave it where ever it breaks down.

But then: It never broke down on us (well, once but still got us safely off the road).
