They don't fail that often. +1. I went through all sort of fits getting the old speed density system figured out on my 89 Ford. Vacuum hoses, fuel pressure, and O2 sensor are the first things to check/replace. Then I would check the MAP sensor. Vacuum leaks and exhaust leaks really affect this fuel injection system.

(engine coolant temp. Also noticed the puke tank for the rad is missing... Sweet. I'll be remedying that when i go outside and decide whether i want a Florida Natural or Prarie Farms aftermarket puke tank. Probably why it got hot on my 8 mile drive to pick up my daughter this afternoon. Other two notable ones were ToT sensor? and IDM signal? we'll start with the ECT and go from there.

Definitely get a new one ASAP. It control the fuel mixture and the timing.
For what it is worth, both my 89 and 84 Fords were built without overflow tanks on the radiator. I added them, but you can run the system just fine without one. Fill the radiator up until the fluid is about two inches below the bottom of the fill neck.
