The cross bar should be just below the head rest. This would be the safest & smartest location. If you are building a roll bar for safety, in any vehicle, I do not recommend my design. This is my summer toy, not a drag racer. I am not even fast enough to require a roll bar. This is not directed at anyone on this website. I just had a problem with a member from an Astro website. This website is the greatest.

| | | Re: Winter project, tubbing my 98 Astro | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 155 member | OP member Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 155 | getting closer mocked up fuel cell, will be mounted under floor marine gas filler, will be mounted in drivers side quarter panel modified center consoles, cut off rear cup holders and cut an inch of bottom to fit roll bar modified side skirts for oval exhaust tip and made template for heat shield, doubles as a cover for cutout.

This is biggest expense, $625, but it will be worth it. It will be approx. 18 gallons, hidden under floor and wont have to open back doors to put gas in.
