Made a little progress today. Re-mounted the carb, figured out a place to mount the coil, and started figuring out how much im going to have to lengthen the wiring. Ordered the new oil pan today along with a new pickup tube. Will be here friday by 3pm. More pics when theres something to look at!

yeah, theres just a couple of wires needing stretched, nothing too serious. The coil leads and maybe an oil pressure sensor wire. Thats about it.

wow thats alot of work i hope it all works out for ya . Are you going to clean up the engine area or just leave it ? It's the best tie to do it now while mostly everything is apart .

im going to give it a good degreasing and pressure wash once i get it all together, truthfully im not too worried about the engine bay being spotless since its just going to see miles and miles of open road. As long as it works well and isnt too nasty i'll live with it. as i replace/upgrade things i will clean/detail that area. i do want to find me some chrome valve covers though.

Wiring should be a piece of cake. Just plug the wires back into the same things they were disconnected from. All the connectors should be the same. You should be able to reuse the van's wiring harness. I once swapped a 225 in place of a 318 on a 79 Dodge van and was able to use the 318 wiring harness with no problems.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!
