A zip tie won't fix that. You have a Carter BBS. I do not have any core BBSs, but someone over on slantsix.org will
See the Carter BBS service manual HERE.

If you are going to rebuild your BBS, see the extra tips HERE

More good BBS info HERE and HERE.

Nah, I have just been a member of slantsix.org for about ten years and Google is my friend. The slant six community is full of very helpful and VERY knowledgeable people. There has been great effort over on ss.org to provide accurate, complete, and useful information, as well as an strong effort to further develop the potential of the slant six. Fuel injection, custom designed cams, turbos, superchargers, etc... It is pretty amazing.

If it can be done to a motor, it can (and probably has) been done to a slant. People always put the slant six down without really knowing what it is capable of.

Dan is The Man. I've met him in person a few times, and, through him, had the privilege of having lunch with the guy who invented the slant six. There are also Charlie Schumers, Doug Dutra, and numerous other slant six aficionados who really make slantsix.org an invaluable resource for more than just slant six motors. Many people ask brand X questions there and get good answers. Just be sure to ask it in the right area of the board. Best of all, it is FREE to join, but donations are encouraged.
