You may not have a lot of gutter to hang on to but that's a shot. It can be adjustable and hinged to lay down. I like the old Realistics...I've got several 23 channels made in the late 60 early 70s....

Is this optimal or would the passenger side work better? We had a Realistic home base CB for years in the living room, used to hear skips from all over the states in BC and we lived in a valley at the time.

CatFish, gutter mount would work! My drip rails are actually in decent shape, so no worries about it coming off due to rust.
Relaxedvanner, you have the later style mirrors with tubular arms. I've seen mounts for the mirrors like you have, but I have the older style with non-tubular arms that are integral to the base. I do love the look of dual mirror-mounted whips though. I may eventually run twin sticks, but one would be purely cosmetic. Too many headaches involved in tuning dual antennae.
Thanks guys!

I have to remount about every week. But I'm used to it. Got two 3' antennas however that ill mount onto the body in the back and will each stick up about 6 inches above the top. Just gotta get the wires and mounts, drill the holes (ouch) all that jazz.
I like the gutter mount idea though. Still gives a clean look, no drilling or messing up too much paint job.
Good luck, have fun!

Mine flew off en route to the cove with the 70 mph head winds while pushing my van to keep 45. So I turned it off and laid it on the dash til I got home. Once work starts looking up again ill get mine installed with the mounts and all.

Flat black and copper accents. At least it'll match anyways.

Comes with a stock (chrome!) mic and bracket, but no antenna. Been eyeing this set of vintage gutter mounts on ebay for a while. They come as a pair, looks like the cable it comes with splits in a "Y", and is connected to the antennae via 2 wires with eyelets for each antenna. My question is this: can I mount both antennae, but rather than connecting them both using the supplied Y-cable, is it possible to hook up just one antenna and have the other unhooked? If so, is it OK to use the supplied cable and just hook up one side, or should I use a single coax with one end spliced into 2 wires with similar eyelets? Is such a cable available read-made, or would I have to get crafty with the soldering iron?
