Smooth with his and hers sunroofs or no sunroof and the ribbed roof. If you do no sunroof and a smooth roof will it cause it to flex or rattle when your driving it?

Smooth would give a look. While those grooves gives strength and may prevent oil canning with temperature change. Something to consider.

those rain gutters also do a double job they also act as stiffeners to a large expanse of sheet metal like that.
if they where not there the roof would 'oil can' of flex allot worse.
Even the heat of the sun can cause the sheet metal to move.
If you do go smooth a heaver gauge sheel metal might be a better option.....

Well! At least this shows that some people are actually reading my posts lol

Thanks for all the kind words. I hope to finish up the roof framing this weekend, but with Easter it may not get done, we will see.

The original plan was to put in his and her sun roofs, but we'll have to see if the owner still wants them. I still think I'm leaning toward the smooth look. Everything else is going to be smooth.

I like the strength comments above and the vibration comments. Like Joe said a while back, if we show all of the steps then anyone can do the job lol

Trust me, I thought of all of those things. grin

So far the consensus seems to mainly be smooth. We'll wait a few more days and see if any other good comments come in.

Thanks again everyone!

i think the smooth look would be the way to go, maybe instead of his n hers, maybe incorporate a flush fit power moonroof from a newer car? the kind that flip up and back kind of like a spoiler. I think that would be very unique.
