Have a wimpy magnetic antenna, would much rather have a permanent mount. Thinking of 48" whip, but where to mount it? Mirror? Roof? Old school ball mount on the side? Mount it on the spare holder? Open to suggestions, ideas, and other forms of feedback on this subject. | | | Re: CB antenna advice or suggestions | Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 32 newbie | newbie Joined: Apr 2011 Posts: 32 | Getting ready to mount my own soon too. I'm going with a ball mount, spring and a 102" whip. I'll be putting it somewhere on the rear driver's side. Haven't decided yet if I'll put it near the top and bend it over into a clip up front or put it low down and let it stand upright.

I've got dual 3' whips that go on top over the front seats. Not an optimum spacing, but that's how it came when I bought it, and they look cool...

Out of curiosity, have you ever heard how Breedlovemount's brass ball mounts hold up? His pinned ball mount looks like a potential alternative to the obsolete oddball dual antenna mounts with fixed compound angles that came on my van.
