I did say thanks in my message but I'd though I would post my days work here. Radio came today but without a harness so I can fit it but that's about it. Got to wait for more parts to continue.

Gonna have to order some kind of mount/trim cause this doesn't look quite right, but it works.

To throw in a monkey wrench, turns out there is an external amplifier for the old system that works, but poorly. Guess I'm going to have to run all new speaker wire for the head unit, joy....

Damn dude, I am jealous! Wish mine would have come out that well. Mine's just ghetto fit and trim isn't working for it. Where did you find that trim that's a bit wider? or did you make it? I need a set of those myself and I've never done glassin or anything of that nature, I could build from wood but that's about it. Nice interior from what I can see, I really can't wait to finish mine up, just a trip to the JY.

Fester you are right, I absolutely LOVE being a single father, now I just gotta work on the vanner part as I don't think I'm an "official" vanner as of yet.

Gone vannin' I'll call you later.

Yeah, all I did was make the existing trim wider with some wood and bondo. Now I get to focus on the important things like the differential and the front end.

pinion bearings, pitman arm, idler arm, tire rod ends,.......

Trust me when I say MassTechguy, the rear axle isn't all the bad just heavy make sure you have the proper tools too. I already replaced mine once and am due to replace it again I just can't win. Personally I'm going to do one ton suspension front and rear so I never have this problem again. gonna get my hands on a rear axle from a one ton chevy that's a 99 and up with lesser miles. re weld the addles and such to make it fit than a one tone suspension up front from a 2002 and up if I can find one. JY here I come!

Single father is AWESOME!

Being that this is my thread I figured I'd keep adding all my interior upgrades to it instead, keep the threads to a minimum for our wonderful forum holders whatever their professional name is that keeps this site up and awesome! HAHA

I got bored and decided to mount the overhead console that Frske1 was so happy to give me for a random gift. At first I was quite intimidate by the project, I didn't want to accidentally put my screws through the roof until I deiced it needed to get done. removing the old screws (pretty long actually) I sued them again to drill through the head liner. LOW AND BEHOLD. I will let the pictures do the talking. Not the best pictures but it came out better than expected. And yes I know it's crooked, I measured 3 times but I still lined up wrong since I was the only hand holding and drilling the same time. but for what it is, it came out pretty good.

Here, you can see all my switches in operation except for number 1, this one will be used for off road lights in the future. 2 is for the rear lights, 3 is for the rear ciggy lighter (fan is what I've got plugged into it) and 4 is for my CB radio so I can use it without the ignition if I so please.

As for the lights, I tethered them into the existing overhead front lights so they will also work with the door open or independently with a separate switch. once again don't need the headlights knob turned to activate these lights.

I know, shame on me... measure twice cut once, I measured 3 times!

CB Radio is IN! but not hooked up yet, just for fit and lack of finish.

The final product! Once again antenna wire is dangling (forgot about that part) So I'll have to get back in there and fix that plus get a longer CB antenna and wire. This one I got at wally world and was not made for my Cobra. Go big or go home!
