My 90 5.2 has started skipping off and on, more on today. Started skipping in idle today. curse Everything was new in the ignition last Sept. only @ 2000 miles since.
As soon as decent weather I'll pull the dog house. Hopefully tomorrow.

Double Check battery cables and battery to engine/frame grounds.

Then look at the hall effect sensor/ distributor pick up under the rotor. This particular replacement part has issues with reliability sending the owner on a wild goose chase until they come back to it.

I have an Elchin from Napa that is still working 6 years later.

Also make sure all the connectors at the engine computer are tight, and not growing any white or green corrosion

I believe you are referring to "missing" as in missing an ignition cycle on a cylinder here and there right? Make sure all your plug wires and rotor and cap all look to be in good shape. Moisture in any of that area can cause problems! smile My van wouldn't even fire once, just dried out the inside of the cap (found some moisture) and fired up like a champ and ran smooth as silk. Good luck!

I think I found the Problem.
Opened the hood to check fluids and looked in side and am seeing a mouse nest on top of motor. will find out this after noon when it warms up.
Not the first time this has happened. they ate through the wiring on my Transport Burning the inside. Have found them in the air filter before, that's what I'm figuring now.

this is what I found

Seams to be running smooth now, I'll find out next time I go out.

Thought I had it but started missing again after it warmed up.
Will pull the doghouse again this afternoon when it warms up.

Ok did some testing and checking. could not find the cause of the missing till I pulled the air filter {NEW}. Now it seems to run ok.
I'll find out tomorrow when I go to store {beer run}. Any other Ideas?
Tuned up less thane 5000 miles. Dis cap & rotor look new.

Check the air intake hose and make sure there isn't a nest in there.

That's the first thing I checked I think the air temp sensor or the vacuum diaphragm isn't opening
