First off I would like to thank Capn Kurk from custom van.com for inviting me to attend Motorama with him and Lorraine... glad I went too! good time and some good bonding time with my son...(we both loved the arena cross) Here are my pics that are on Facebook...

I agree Snotty a big thanks to capn Kurk. At the awards sunday they said 38,000 people thru the doors they did not have sundays count in but it should have been over 50,000 people.Congrats to all the winners!

Snotty, Yup i guess everybody did take off work that day but you ,,,,but i think it worked out all right...Jay in the Explorer van got there JUST before you. He had a blast for sure, I did....WOOPED NOW tho...had to go RIGHT back into it on Monday and now gotta build 2 a day till their all done..SORE but ready! You know the indoor shows seem harder than a truck-in and take more out of you ( maybe its just my tired ass)...ANYWAY GREAT time with a GREAT bunch...Stuff to talk about for a while and I think Doug said something about a long time since 10 vans at a car show, so history has been made.
Carlisle stuff will go on website ( www.customvan.com)THIS week to register or you can always call 800-495-VANS (8267). I'm buying 25 spots now and have to sell them of course. 12 spots in the building and 13 outside and My van and tent set-up. We have a 16 x 30 military tent on hand from vanners and about 25 radios. I'd LOVE to get 50 - 75 vans registered and entered for this one ( or MORE).The event is between Nats and Super Somer, so no conflicts.The vans on the INSIDE of the building MUST stay in the building the entire weekend ( goes in on Thursday , out on Sunday). Outside people can come and go whenever they like. Cost either way is $75 per van ( inside or out )( both have advantages and dis-advantages). Would like to have best of best inside under lights (If we get a couple hours of rain...where do you think people go to get out of it...now we don't want to pray for rain or anything but) (jus sayin). the FACE value for entry fee into the show is only $55. If the extra 20 bux is an issue, you can still register on your own and be there, it will just not be a part of the GROUP. The extra i want to use to make it COOL for everybody ( goodie bags and our own vanner type dash plaques and stuff...make it a truck-in within a NHRA event. When the group of vanners at Motorama spoke up ...we were heard...imagine if 75-100 of us are there....HISTORY BABY... ALSO to be in the group we will have to have registered WAY EARLY so they can calculate the spots around the building needed for the amount of vanners registered AS A GROUP. We will have our own display building, an outside tent ( 16 x 36 ) and surround the building with AS MANY VANS AS WE CAN GATHER TOGETHER.I'm going to need to tell them how many OVER the 25 ( I'm already buying) BY APRIL 1.
If you want in, you can pay by check or credit card ( on the web-site). If your money is tight right now but you DEFINITELY WILL come, fill out the form, send me a picture and details of the van, tell me WHEN to cash the check or process the card and that's what i'll do.
REMEMBER...We CANNOT stay on grounds at Carlisle. The show dates are Aug.3,4,5.There are some campgrounds and LOTS of hotel rooms around the area, but they WILL sell out WAY IN ADVANCE. If anyone has information on Carlisle area campgrounds from personal experience , please let me know ( CALL ME).
INCLUDED in the price of admission is 2 people passes PER DAY and PARKING PASS for each day...when its all said and done, its CHEAPER to show anyway...you're JUST adding whatever you pay for chow and a place to crash,,,,and we're a pretty resourceful bunch...we have a little time but GOTTA MOVE quickly.
