That's cool. I thought by the first pic it looked like it had lower bodywork. What a neat find. Have fun!

If your gonna do it, do it in a Big Green Van!

drool What a cool van! I really like the body mods on there.
Good luck with this project, I can't wait to see your plans for it.
If it was mine I would loose the windows. Go for a 350/350 setup and paint it yellow and black. chevy

Update:
Ok, Just got off the phone with a previous owner. The guy I bought it from, had it for 10 years and didn't do anything with it. The guy I just talked to was the previous owner that he bought it from. He had it for 11 years. He used to work for a salvage yard and the van came in one day to be crushed back in 1990. He thought the van looked pretty good so he arranged to buy it and was the one that saved it from the crusher. He brought it home and parked it in his garage and that is where it sat till he sold it. He didn't have any info on who built it or who owned it before him. I told him when we get it running we will give him a shout.

Basically this van has been sitting in the same shape for over 21 years. Guess it needs to be brought back to life some.

Build an inline for it, a multiple carb setup would be wicked, you can make them go fast.

A little bit of an update, I went to my kids place where we have the van parked at and got it up on the lift:

Determined the motor is locked up and someone torched out the original tranny mount, so time to plan out what to do for a new motor and tranny.

A little bit later, the old motor is out!:

Worked on the gull wing and clam shell rear doors some to free up the old hinges, weld in in some new ones and put some temporary catches on to keep the doors closed.

And new (used) wheels and tires:

Did some welding on some of the drilled holes in the body to get it more water tight, Lot's more work to go but we felt we did a lot in only one day.

Planning on bringing it to Taz's Vintage Chevy fest over Labor day, to get its first evant out of the way.
