Nice distributor!

I can give you a useful hint about that vacuum advance canister; the ones like that with the hex end are the adjustable ones. You can put a small allen wrench in through the vacuum nipple and adjust at what vacuum level the advance curve takes place.

The round end vacuum canisters don't have the adjustment.

BTW, since you said the seller was a racer, you might want to verify what advance springs he put inside... they may be a profound mismatch for what you want. Some racers even lock them out, since they're primarily concerned with the best advance for wide open throttle conditions.

It's what you learn after you know it all, that counts...

It's setup for street, they are right for what I want, can't wait to install it.
I know all about the duraspark 2, just wanted an all together unit that is adjustable, I didn't want to buy a bunch of items and need to find locations to mount it all, clean and self contained is neater.

I may try to go by his shop one day in the spring to see what all he does, can't beat a complete unit with wires for $75, just gotta be sure to get the lower unit stuck into it before installation. Court has a nice van, would love to see it up close one day.

I've yet to do it, van's still in SC, I know the coil wire has to be replaced due to the resistor, this thing needs 12 volts, and I've not found a diagram to help find the thing either, I don't want to replace the entire wire. I'm slow at it. LoL

OK, I can't get it in, it hit the heater hose that's on the intake by the distributor, has a temp controlled vacuum switch. Any photos of Courtney's?

Just saying, this fits. That huge HEI head grafted onto a Ford distributor shaft is ugly, a bad idea, and unnecessary.

HERE is a Duraspark distributor from a van that will work. Get a heat sink, heat sink compound, soldering supplies, and a relay for the (=) feed to the module, and you are in business.

I have money invested in this distributor, I tried to sell it with no luck, I don't have the cash for another, and will not invest in one, I plan to figure out how to make what I have work.
